METRO
The metro network forms the backbone of the entire public transport system, and passengers can utilise 54 stations on 59.4 km of track (as of 31 December 2006). In accordance with the trend to make transport accessible for disabled persons, recently commissioned stations are equipped with an elevator or barrier-free access. At older stations, if technical conditions permit, elevators are added. The Metro Wayside Unit also operates the chairlift at the ZOO in Prague's Troja area.
